This is in an effort to help, not offend.

It's sad to see so many people not know what spells work and do not work for the typical magic user jobs (blm/whm/rdm/drk/pld).

When they ask their ls, friends, random people, it's just a vacuum of ignorance. They're met with answers like "no clue", and "toau stuff should work", even the "idk but if you find out let me know^^".

The cause for this, I've found, is people flock to the retail wiki sites, expecting nasomi server to be a 100% accurate emulation of retail. Try to understand that it's not, and may never be at this point. This is custom work that moves in it's own direction. Retail wiki can give you an "idea" of what to expect but it's probably 75% inaccurate, even on battle strategies.

The solution to this, is simple. Use the Nasomi Wiki (seriously scroll to the top of this page and click it.... read up, educate yourself). On the Nasomi Wiki we have pages for the jobs and for the most part what spells are out of era. A lot of people put a lot of time into adding info there. All of the info is for Nasomi Server, not retail. You're better off browsing the Nasomi Wiki as your first look at things, then if you can't find what you're looking for, feel free to try retail wiki's but remember there's never going to be a guarantee on accuracy from retail info.

Use the naswiki, contribute to the naswiki, refer people to the naswiki, it's the best way to fight off this epidemic of ignorance. There's too many new players to coach them all in /tell.

Yeah, I was wanting to maybe start making some contributions to the wiki, but it looks like as of right now the Create a New Account option isn't working, but maybe that's just me.

If you check out WikiNas, the button at the top of this page, and look at the page for your class. You'll find a list of most of the out of era spells.

For exampled http://nasomi.com/wiki/index.php?title=White_Mage lists Repose, Cura, Auspice, and Sacrifice as out of era and not to use them.

People are so quick to just to FFXIclopedia for their reference to things for this server, instead of trying to use the wiki that was created for this server. It's not perfect, and currently is broken, but it does have a lot of server specific information on it there. I recommend checking WikiNas first, then if you can't find what you need, move to FFXIclopedia.

Dread Spikes is fine. Repose and Reprisal are not.
