Every time i try to log on my account it says "Failed to initialize instance of ffxi"

Have you checked the troubleshooting page?

It sounds like either your install did not complete or you moved your game files after installation.

Please try to run the installer again and follow the prompts very closely when doing so.

If you used the direct download, you obviously need to EXTRACT the installer first before running it. You can't just run install.bat from within an archive.
