Hi, I was wondering if it was okay for me to play from the same IP with my son and/or kids? If so, what's the proper procedure to do so? I have 4 kids, and I've played FFXI way back when it was still fairly new; I'd like to introduce them to Vana'diel because I remember it was so awesome for me the first time around.

You must get that kind of question a lot, sorry, couldn't find it easily. There was the "controlling two characters at the same time" rule, that I read, and there's also the "one HELM per household" rule, but I don't know what's a HELM.

It's 100% ok to play with others on your same IP. Don't even have to ask.

"controlling two characters at the same time" - this refers to literally pressing one button and performing actions on more than 1 character at a time

"one HELM per household" - HELMF refers to Harvest, Excavating, Logging, Mining, and Fishing. Only one character can be doing these at a time until nas revamps how HELM works.

How should I go about this, account-wise? Kids on the same "global" account, using the "sub"? Or a full-on account for the kids?

Each person should have their own forum account so that they can create their own 3 chars if they need to. If they're too young to have emails or to go through the registration process, you could take care of that for them.
