I have not played in about a year. Yes, I updated my FFXI files. Any ideas?

Edit: I cannot seem to get the live chat working either, it's just a blank screen, so I'm not sure that what is up with that, either.

Have you tried right clicking pol.exe and going to properties and making sure admin is checked also do it on your launchers be it ashita or windower or whatever it is you use. It's the bottom "Run this program as an administrator" then click the button Change settings for all users then check mark "Run this program as administrator" on that window as well.

If POL crashes, and IIRC doesn't work, then it sounds like a possible firewall problems to me. Try disabling your firewall to test. If it works you know you missed a port in your firewall rules.

I can't use IIRC, or Ashita at work due to firewalls and get these errors. Once I am out from behind the firewall it works. If you are at work 99.9% chance your IT will tell you to bugger off if you ask for the ports to be opened (As they should).

I can't get on IRC or ashita at work either but almost no company closes 3389 (remote desktop), so you could set up your PC at home to remote into and get on. Unless you work at some whackadoo place that actually removed the RDP windows component (unlikely).
