Why does it matter if they are on top of you? At KA you stand on one spot and hope it auto-claims to you , and at Simurgh if you are tab targeting to claim... I have no words.

21-24 hour NMs are competitive. I've had people stand on me, follow me, send insulting /tells to me when I get claim, follow me on /sea and abuse the fact anon doesn't work properly, and all manor of other things. People can and will do all sorts of things if they think it will get them a competitive edge.

The intent at Simurgh was nothing about making you feel anything and everything about trying to get Simurgh. I assume you do what you can to win competitive portions of games as well - otherwise, why do them?

This is a game. Not the real life. It is competitive. Imagine having a soccer game and the other guy says "please stop following me. this is harassment". That is the same situation.

theres a rule called Blocking foul in soccer game, also soccer game is 11vs11, not 1 vs army, and the army create a hume wall to stuck you

Imagine I have 7 friends, and we all need food. And a restaurant is having a competition, one winner gets an all you can eat meal for free. Then you say to us you deserve a chance to win as much as we do, even though there are 8 of us going hungry.

This is another stupid hypothetical that has nothing to do with the actual situation, but it's no more stupid than yours.

FFXI is a game that is designed around imposed scarcity and the competition that it breeds between players around those scarce resources. If it wasn't, NMs would respawn quicker and drop items 100% of the time. But they don't, despite the items being very desirable - because it is the very nature of the game, and done so intentionally. Why are you getting upset with a player for playing the game as intended?

In real life soccer human bodies are physical things that you cannot pass through. In games this exists because they want to mimic real life soccer. In FFXI you can walk through bodies and they are not actual physical things.

Video games are also created backwards from games in real life. Real life rules are created to limit actions that are already possible due to them being the nature of reality. Video games you have to explicitly allow actions by coding them in. FFXI is coded to allow me to put someone not in my party, friends list, linkshell, etc. on follow and is not a strange and unintended interaction that the game developers didn't foresee.


You're right. Obviously the game is not fair unless you can field an equal team to your opponent. And in soccer, the team that can't provide a full roster is disqualified. Please do not return to Sim or KA until you can field a full team, thanks.

fun, and completely true, fact: i once convinced someone at a Fafnir camp that I was someone else's wife, who they were very angry at, and I gave them my email so they could send me the reasons they were mad at my "husband".

That person found out that it wasn't actually me, used my email on Facebook, and tried to get me fired and my actual wife to divorce me.

I think you're gonna be fine when someone stands on top of you in the video game.

edit: and yes, a few people are familiar with this story and it was still the funniest evening of Nasomi I've ever had.
