Been playing for a few weeks off and on. Just in the past couple days I tried completing a quest and a mission and the object/person was not where they were supposed to be according to online guides for FFXI; and I can not complete them. Is there a known reason for this issue; I can post the names of the mission and quest if needed. Thanks.

Both of these I get to the coordinates of where the person/item is supposed to be and I can't seem to find them. Maybe I am really over looking something. Am I supposed to complete the quest/mission before I log out after accepting it?

Edit: Found the first one, however never was able to find the tear.

Hey! I have a siren's tear in my inventory right now; just got it. Hit me up in game (Fenriz) and we can do it together. You talk to the NPC, then talk to the bard nearby. Then you head to north gustaberg (right part) from port bastok and go to the river with the small bridge. you hug the river up to the mountain cavern it goes through and there you will find the ''???''. make sure you unequip your weapons and shield before you try to pick it up or it will slip from your hands. et voila. sirens tear.

I've noticed an issue with this not being repeatable. I was able to get one tear. After I turned it in I went back for a second one, and got the text
"You cannot obtain the Siren's tear. Come back after sorting your inventory."

I'm having an issue with this. Can't pick up another Siren's tear after turning in first 1. "you cannot obtain Siren's Tear." Come back after sorting your inventory.

A few week's ago, I obtained a Siren's Tear in order to complete The Siren's Tear quest in Bastok Mines.

Today I started the Blue Mage job quest and found that I needed another Siren's Tear. I get the error saying that I cannot obtain a Siren's Tear and to come back after sorting my inventory though.

So I was unable to advance the Blue Mage job quest on my own and my sister ended up getting a Siren's Tear for me. I guess it's not game breaking since it has a work around with other players' help or alternate characters, but I figured I should share that the issue affected me as well.

I was having an issue with this quest as well (which is what brought me here). I tried to obtain the Siren's Tear and received a message: "You must free at least 576 spaces before trading those items." When I found the ??? To try again it said "You cant obtain the Sirens Tear" and a note: "You cannot possess more than one of that item"

It turns out at the original cryptic message, the Tear was placed in my inventory.

Any solution for this? Trying to unlock BLU, but I can't seem to obtain a second Siren's Tear. I grabbed one a while ago, and did one of the quests with it. So I don't have one in my inventory.

Now, I am trying to get a new one, I go to the ??? and it tells me, "You cannot obtain the Siren's Tear. Come back after sorting your inventory."

I'm not sure what to do!
