I recently tried revisiting Nasomi, and since I've last played I've sold my Xbox. That controller was the only way I have ever played FFXI, so KB is out as an option. I do have a Switch pro controller, but upon installation I've found configuring the pro controller to be impossible. Even preset configs don't work as the controller is spamming inputs and making it impossible to select the appropriate option. Has anyone else using this controller to play had this problem? Have you solved it? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Sorry guy, switch pro just don't act right unless you use it through steam or with an emulated input like x360ce or somethin, even then it can be finnicky in this servers client. Problem comes from switchpro pads not being detected as xinput hid, windows picks it up as directinput hid, and that causes some funky communication with some stuff like ffxi. To get the buttons to not spaz out in gamepad settings can unclick "enable xinput" but as for getting it keyed up and acting right (detecting analogs as key presses etc) you may have to find a workaround. Hopefully this'll point ya in the right direction to look into it tho, good luck^^

A wired xbox controller works just fine. I currently am using a Xbox One S controller, which is bluetooth. I've also had luck with wired PS4 controller.

I've been using the Switch pro controller to play and it's been working fine. You may need to calibrate it in the windows settings first?

If u got the steam client it'll do a profile that makes the switch pro work on win10, maybe win7 can get it going right without any extra effort, I reluctantly had to swap to win10 to get modern things acting right. So i can't really say what win7 can or can't do anymore. There's an hid driver u can get for the xbox 360 pads that will run directinput devices on win10 still, it may help with it. There's some stuff u can use to tweak the xinput drivers a bit for target programs also, use those at your own risk tho. Good news is the switchpro isn't nearly as intrusive as the xbox ones so getting it could should only take a couple of sidesteps. Afaik ppl been asking around for a way to get their switchpro pads compatible with gaming outside of using steam. So if u can find that magic bullet 1000's of ppl on reddit would love to know^^
