Okay so I have the controller working in the ffxi config test but not in game. What does that mean?

Does it just not work when you are not focused on the FFXI window or not at all? If it just not when not focused type /gamepad allowbackground

Which controller brand? Maybe someone else uses the same one and can share their experiences.
