Couldn't find any config file for FFXI sadly, so I couldn't edit it for language. Couldn't find anything similar :(

Would advice against this: https://www.bluegartr.com/threads/56127 ... I-registry

There was a DC bug with Windower that would bug the game to Japanese.

Thanks everyone for the help :) Issue is now resolved. There must have been an issue with POL as when I reinstalled that and did a full reinstall of the game it worked. I can read my menus!! :D

In order to get JP language displayed from the game files; IIRC you had to have the JP POL client installed. (This was the case a while back.) If you don't have this client installed, then it may be that the Ashita 2 nasomi configuration has the Japanese language flag switched instead of the English. Keep in mind that this would also affect the Installation location expected to be pointed to by the Registry to be:

C:\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\ [instead of]
C:\Program Files (x86)\PlayOnline\

This information may have become outdated though, but a thought on what may have happened.
