NasomiXI Config and the FFIXpad Config seem to be on different pages.
I was finally able to figure out how to get Nasomi to readjust my right analog stick (for some reason it was way off center even after calibration, I don' know what I did to fix it but it's fixed.)
Now it's not working how I'd like it, which may be asking too much, but it's still definitley not working how it should in game either. I'll start there before I start requesting extraneous gamepad features.
First off, when I go to the character creation screen and use the D-pad to scroll down to the other races, the cursor automatically goes back up to the top and highlights Hume male.
For some reason it only does this on this menu, as when I choose Hume Male, the rest of the menus behave accordingly.
Secondly, in game, when I open the main menu, then switch to the secondary menu, the mouse cursor jumps up an option. So let's say I go down 5 options on menu one then press >(Right) on the D-pad, it brings up the next menu, but the cursor appears and automatically highlights the option above the previous menu. If I press <(Left) then it again highlights the option above, now moving two spaces total back to Option 3. It seems the mouse cursor DPI may be off or something but I don't know how to fix that.
Now for extra credit.
This is particularly an XI issue. When using the right analog stick for the camera it doesn't seem to notice differences in sensitivity unless I'm auto running. It's as if it only recognizes Up Down Left Right and the Diagonals and Null, rather than, say, moving gracefully if I lightly tilt the analog stick, and more aggressively if I tilt the analog stick all the way. XIV seems to have this issue with mouse camera. It's so fine it comes off as jittery, but if you use a controller you can make for much smoother sweeping camera motions. XI seems to work conversely. Mouse camera control gives for a greater sensitivity of inut while the analog stick on a controller seems to be more digitalesque than analog.
Lastly, I'd really like to be able to use Input Mapper so that I could have Mouse functionality and other key stroke possiblities on my controller. Input Mapper works fine with most other games and I even noticed yesterday that it seemed like I was able to use my DS4 controllers mousepad in XI, but now it just doesn't seem to want to work as soon as I open NasomiXI Launcher or when the game window is active. Input Mapper would allow me to map keyboard controls onto the gamepad, for instance. You can't zoom in or out with the gamepad in any manner. The only way to zoom in or out on your character in game is either on the 9 and 3 NUMPAD buttons or the Mouse Scroll Wheel. Input Mapper allows me to assign keyboard strokes to buttons and combinations of buttons on the controller.
For instance, I'd love to be able to map L1 + Right Analog Stick UP/Down to the Mouse Scroll functions so that I could essentially freely zoom in and out on my character without having to grab my mouse and keyboard. Along with other great features like Alt+Tab mapped to L1 + D-Pad Right and Alt+Shift+Tab mappted to L1 + D-Pad Left so I can move between windows all through controller button combinations.
What is it about Nasomi Launcher or FFXI that disables Input Mapper? XInput still works on my controller. My Mouse still works. My Keyboard still works, but why don't the keyboard and/or mouse assignments work via Input Mapper in game? As soon as I alt tab the Mousepad on the DS4 is operable again. As soon as I activate the NasomiFFXI window, Mousepad on the DS4 stops working again, along with all other Input Mapper settings I had made.
Sorry for the wall of text. Thank you for your time and considertion
Keep up the great work.
