Edit: problem solved! From another post, Drink Pepsi suggested...
"Go to ffxi config on your desktop, click gamepad settings, and disable controller. It's looking for a controller you don't have or haven't configured."
I tried that and it worked. Thank heavens!

Hi all,
Sorry for posting the same thing twice...
Anyhow, I was/am really excited to play FFXI again (I played on Sylph from about 2005-2009) but I'm having one issue that I can't find a fix for.
As soon as I enter the game, the moment my toon loads, the camera pans up and gives me a bird's eye view of the game.
I'm using a Surface Pro 4 with the Type cover keyboard. I do not have a controller hooked up. None of my keys are sticking nor do I have any other problems with my keyboard/mouse in any other application. I have tried: -changing the camera/mouse settings in game. -clicking my mouse cursor (left and right clicks) in the game window. -disabling my touch pad and using a USB mouse. -removing the Type cover keyboard and using a USB keyboard. -uninstalling the NasomiXI files and re-downloading/re-installing them...
I'm not the most computer literate person and I would really like to be able to play this version of FFXI on my SP4. If anyone has any suggestions I would be grateful.
Thanks,
Devin
