When I walk over an egg it says I found it but I need to tree up 1400 spaces to get it. I don't get the egg even with ten free slots. Any ideas?

Oh. I'm running ashita through steam so I can play in bed. So if I do this I'm unable to pick up eggs. Is there any way to run the client I need through steam?
