Attempted this fight (bomb and salamander) with 3 (2x 75 drk and 1x 63 rdm) and encountered a host of issues that ultimately didn't allow me to finish the mission.

First, when you trade the ore to the ??? it breaks your sneak automatically which shouldn't happen. Second, when we killed the bomb it only dropped 2 items instead of the 6 it was supposed to drop so 2 of our members got the item while I had to sit it out. Third the salamander was way stronger than it should have been, by a large margin. It should be a relatively easy solo for a 75 (speaking of the salamander specifically) but all three of us just attacking it with the bomb dead could barely scratch (believe we didn't bring it down below 90%) it while it was mauling us for fast, multi-hit attacks of 200ish each. Fourth, it would not despawn... we waited for quite a while and nothing happened. We tried zoning it and waiting for it to walk back and again it just stayed there. While it was up, a second bomb could not be spawned.

The combination of these factors makes this fairly routine mission a nightmare that it should not be. If any one of these inaccuracies/bugs/issues were to be fixed (though some are def. more ideal than others) there would be less of a problem. As it stands though I am waiting to see if it is gone in the morning (doubtful considering the above refusal to despawn) where I will check again.

Update: Had a friend check to see if it was still up and they said that it was. At this point it is fairly safe to say it doesn't despawn at all and has to be killed to allow a new attempt by anyone.

Also something I didn't note yesterday, it was giving me skill ups which suggests that the mob is set to the wrong level. The bomb is 65 and the salamander is likely supposed to be the same or very nearly so. In order for me to have been getting skill ups it definitely has to be higher than that (though this is unsurprising considering how natively strong it is).

i solod this a few months ago as a 73 whm, yeah the salamander agrod and was way stronger than it should have been so i ran away to a safe spot and let it kill me, at this point the bomb and the salamander wandered back to the spawn point. i re - raised and agrod the bomb without the salamander this time, they were both still up, i just used dia and they didnt link. Was quite tough but i killed the bomb while the salamander was still hanging out at the spawn point! yeah i noticed it only droped like 1 or 2 of the items needed, didnt think that was right. You probably have to wait for a zone crash or maintenence to get rid of it. Good news is as long as you were one of the 75 players you should be able to solo it with a reraise scroll and some potions.

We went back and killed it with the help of a well merited/geared blm and rdm and managed it. (took about 14ish T4 spells to finally kill it) But the good news is sleep -> nuke worked (apparently it isn't sleep immune here).

Still stronger than it should be and really it should just depop after a certain amount of time (though I don't know what would go into making that happen). It is doable but requires more than it reasonably should for what amounts to a lvl 65 uncapped fight. We popped the second round and killed the lizard again for anyone coming behind us (though it might not have mattered anyway with the server having gone down yesterday).
