Hello!

I am having an issue with Weapon Skills and Job Abilities showing in the chat log. I can see the animations occur, and in the case of WS, I see the "[Character] uses [Weapon Skill Name]" followed by the damage done, if I leave damage showing in the chat log. But I don't see the "[Character] readies [WS/JA]" line, which makes it a little more annoying to SC/MB. I do not have any chat filters on, nor have I filtered any effects.

Anyone have any idea what is going on?

The text you are seeing for weapon skills is the only text that is ever displayed, when you hit a WS macro or select it from the list, it goes off instantly so there would be no text indicating that they are reading it, unless the person doing that ability or ws specifically writes a macro that says something in party chat like Tachi: Gekko in 3 seconds! and they delay their ws by 3 seconds.

It used to in retail. I googled screenshots to make sure I wasn't crazy or remembering incorrectly LOL. See below. Line 1 in the screenshot is what I'm referring to being missing. Lines 5 and 6 are what I do see. Is it a Nasomi thing then or something they removed from retail that carried over here? I also don't see job abilities being used in the chat log. No SATA, no voke, nothing. Only indication the visual effects around the character.

Hmm weird, guess ive been playing on nasomi so long I forgot that was even a thing. Either that got removed from retail which could of made it not work here or it was just never coded because I dont recall ever noticing it on this serveri.

I’m having this same problem. Other players say they can see the WS messages while others can’t. I hope someone has a fix.

Just watch the tp indicators on your party members names. Watch for the tp number to change from a green +1000 number to a <200 number... then wait for the animation to finish... then use your ws. There's often so much lag in the chat log so relying on it is not advised. tp indicator is incredibly useful. Try it out~

This is usually the result of blinking or other animations. It happened on retail as well.

Bump for this. It is not an equipment change blinking issue. "Ready WS" and "use JA" chat messages are just not in the chat log on this server. Hoping it will be corrected.

It seems really strange for this to have existed since the WS go out instantly with no delay. Perhaps there has been some change in the retail client that just removes it since it's so unnecessary.

Regarding JA, maybe retail client removed that too since it'd get pretty spammy with all the JAs they've probably added through the years.

If that's the case, since we use the modern retail client, there's no way we can get those messages back. At least I don't think we can.

Current retail still shows these chat lines. It's actually really useful to see when your teammates use things like meditate, sekkanoki, provoke, berserk, accession, immanence, sublimation, Battuta, sentinel, etc. Sometimes graphically they get buried (or you are staring at a wall to reduce game lag), but it shows up in the chat.

If you care about this, say something! Maybe if enough people care, Nasomi will look at it.
