A game file may be missing. Best thing you can do is reinstall.

I just did. Same result. Since original install last week, I also don't have any audio whatsoever and it says that i don't have the expansion packs installed when going through the intro login screens.

Did you use the nasomi installer?

Yes. Oddly, the torrent I downloaded from the website says v20 and the installer says v19. I don't know if that makes a difference. The installer plays music just fine when installing the game. After I login, complete silence...which isn't such a bad thing at times.

That's ok, it's just a typo in the installer.

Did you have enough space in the location you installed to?

How large is your FINAL FANTASY XI folder? Should be ~13 GB

9.13GB.....missing 4GB or more.....is it possible that some of it got lost in the torrent download?

How large is your installer? That one should be like 5.03 GB.

If it isn't you could try to re-download it yes.
