Hello everyone!

For a couple days now I've been trying to get NasomiXI working on my PC, and I'm not having any luck. I'm not the most technologically literate person, and though I've followed the installation tutorial to the best of my abilities, I still can't get the icon on my desktop to actually open. It's pretty frustrating because every step of the way just leads to me Googling something, which in turn leads to more issues that need to be googled, etc, etc...

I spent 12+ hours trying to figure out how to get to the directories that the wiki's Linux Installation Tutorial pointed to, only to find that I didn't have permissions to alter them, and also, they were not where they were supposed to be. Again, every step along the way only seems to proliferate the number of things I need to Google or concepts I do not understand.

I was wondering if perhaps the Linux Installation Instructions were out of date? Or if there is more thorough guide on how to install Nasomi, like a video tutorial? I see that there's a live chat support channel. I was wondering if someone would be willing to maybe assist me in real-time through screenshare?

I can give a more thorough explanation of my issue with screenshots, if necessary. Thanks! :)

The shortcut on your desktop on linux won't open.

If the file locations didn't match, your WINE probably got installed to a different place than mine did when I wrote the guide.

You can still find any file on your pc though by typing:
locate filename
in your terminal.

So like
locate boot.exe
will spit out the full file path for the boot.exe which you'll use to launch the game. Take note that you still need the new launcher (link in my signature) even on linux (it's not included in the installer yet)

Thank you very much for your incredibly fast reply! I'll go give this a try. It's good to see that there are still options left to consider.

I won't give up on this yet. I know that I'm only a couple steps away. (I was tempted to just wipe my entire PC and try to install Windows 7, out of chance that it would be easier to figure out.)

I'll go look to see how to install the new launcher, and see if I can figure that out.

If I can figure this all out, I will contribute to helping others in some way. (By making an "idiot's guide" or an update youtube tutorial or something.)
