We did all kinds of things, had him down several percent at one point, confirmed that some things he is supposed to do he does, and other things he does not. Spells that work, spells that don't, some of them kind of surprising. Are we going to kill AV tomorrow? No of course not. It's testing so we, you know, tested things. Why in the world would anyone from any linkshell/guild on any server on any mmo share any of that kind of stuff with active competitors? If you don't recognize the name Kaeko from the second thread, shame on you; He is probably the best FFXI tactician/scientist ever to play.
Even with the wealth of information/theory-crafting in that thread AV was not killed legit (sch2hr doesn't count) from October 2008 until the first Perfect Defense kill in 2010.

Sky is your green circle ski-slope; sea your blue square. DL/Vrtra are your black diamond fights. AV is light skydiving naked with a pair of skiis. It is unlike anything else in the game: a fight that was designed with the players losing being the norm rather than players winning.

Yes, yes we all hate each other; however lest we forget this isn't a land king HNM fight where one shells success directly contributes to another shells failure and wasted time. One shell's AV kill doesn't make some other shell's AV kill any less substantial. Now if you want to play the isolationist card, and you genuinely think you've got the shell to pull that off, alright. For the rest of us, be it retail veterans still leveling in qufim, or the wider EGLS scene, this thread is for us to come together, share information, share non-retail aspects, theory-craft and really try to accomplish something man-on-the-moon difficult.

So to go answer your question 5456: when the minds and endgame-shells of 32 servers couldn't come up with a way to beat this sucker, you'd be crazy to think you could win *without* sharing information on our little 1/4th of a server playing here.

That's cool people made threads back when they were fighting a mob their own competition didn't code. See that's the difference. Back then they had to theorycraft because no one knew how to kill it. On this server our active competition knows exactly how to kill it because he coded it. Now if you could just get characters 3, 4 and 5 into Sea...



You are welcome to share any findings you "discover" about the mob you coded and created. This isn't retail dude. Retail didn't let endgame ls leaders code mobs or let endgame ls leaders run around acting like they had the ability make Dyna Lord force pop just because they wanted to kill it. This is a an entirely different animal.



Not at all. Most of the shells at endgame are pretty cordial to each other these days. If you aren't feeling that there is probably a reason for it.
