Hello everyone.
We have been using magnetic particle brakes (https://www.oyostepper.es/category-198-b0-Freno-de-part%C3%ADculas-magn%C3%A9ticas.html) successfully on our winding equipment. Recently, however, we noticed that whenever the supply pressure from the cooling water station fluctuates, the output torque fluctuates slightly in tandem. Although the magnitude is small, the effect is amplified within the tension control system, resulting in "water ripple" patterns on the material strip.

Measurements show that the periods of water pressure fluctuation and torque fluctuation essentially coincide. Our analysis suggests that as the cooling water flows through the housing, pressure fluctuations cause minute elastic deformation of the housing; this alters the working gap, thereby causing the torque to vary.

How can this coupling effect be resolved? Would installing a pressure-stabilizing valve at the cooling water inlet solve the problem, or do we need to increase the rigidity of the housing?

This is a precision production line where even minor fluctuations impact quality. I would appreciate any ideas or suggestions. Thank you.
