The workaround for this is to find one or more high-level helpers who DO NOT have Trial By Water active.

Have the person with the quest enter the battlefield, and that person will be stuck on the cutscene. Then the people who do not have the quest active can enter the battlefield and won't be bugged and can fight Leviathan.

There's another problem with this fight. Leviathan's 2 hour destroys everything more than it should. I fought him with a LV70 PLD/RDM with Stoneskin and Barwatera up, on Thundersday, with full heath. Leviathan's 2hr killed him in one shot.

The other problem is you don't get a message alerting you it's using its 2 hour, so you can't react to it.

You need a SMN or BST to do this fight.
