Job imbalance and uninvitability is fixed very easily...start or join a static. My static is by no means the most lean mean efficient exp machine, but we have a hell of a time playing together and messing around on mumble or discord. Find a group of non elitist people who don't require you to play the "META" way and tell all others to get bent.

No, but what stackable juices WILL do is enable that redmage to bring more juice too, while simultaneously making it an absolute requirement for any job with MP at all times. The WHM will still be left out in the cold (even though by all rights they shouldn't be), and Paladin will become more expensive to XP than ninja and Ranger combined unless juice is also adjusted accordingly (either recipes with higher yield, or an enhanced duration since it would be required to be active at almost all times). I mean if it isn't active at all times you can't replace the red mage, because Refresh is exactly that. Then again if it is active at all times, their's is still 3 MP/tick higher...

Cooks will probably love the change. As a red mage, this idea is awful. The whole point of adding Corsair was to be able to swap 1 of the 4 DD and the RDM out, and bring WHM in. Drop Evoker + healer rolls on the WHM with double ballad there is almost nothing the party could do with a rdm that couldn't be done with a whm.

The fix for Paladin would be making it so mobs don't hit meat shields like a Mack truck. I remember leveling WAR/MNK on retail with a greataxe and not being an MP sink like sword & board paladin is here. It's just a hole in the party that a healer dumps MP into.

Partying as a BRD, I found it incredibly tiring to party with PLD's when we didn't have a RDM as the main healer. If we did BRD, PLD, WHM, DD, DD, DD it was generally pretty frustrating. Trying to keep ballad up on the WHM and PLD, and melee songs on the DD, while also pulling for decent XP was dumb.

I only partied with probably... 2-3 PLD from 25-75. It wasn't a coincidence.

Maybe this goes back to Pepsi's theory that level syncing dumbed down some players from needing to concern themselves with the finer points of FFXI, but party positioning is basically nonexistent in most mid level parties no matter how much one tries to get folks to do it consistently.

Yell at morons about positioning 1-2 times. It doesn't take a genius to look at the party setup and realize the positioning should be DDs > Mob > PLD > WHM > BRD so that Ballad can land on the right people.

If they don't get that or pay enough attention while exping, then kick Pcity or whatever their name is.

I, generally speaking, only mention it a few times. It takes away from the fun of the game for me if people just choose to perform poorly, out of laziness or ignorance, when someone is trying to help. I just look to rep myself.

I'd say about 40% of the fights end up being DD > MOB > PLD > DD > WHM with the third DD standing to the bottom of the mob.


Resulting in me singing.. like 3 rounds of songs everytime, including pulling. It's just not worth it. This was more of an issue leveling than at 75, obviously. I wish I still thought Pcity was the worst person to party with.

As someone who's spent most of his time healing people, I do bitch at lazy/ignorant/dumb/new THFs who stay in one spot the whole fight, soaking Conal moves they don't need to soak. A merited SAM is the only other job I can think of that has a reason to be in front of the mob.

Bring back bullying!

I try to find a balance between helpful hints to people and them thinking I'm an ass. I miss sometimes.
