EDIT: According to the server rules "The only permitted launcher is the offical NasLauncher, or this specific version of ashita."
Hi,

Before posting I honestly tried my best to solve this issue I'm having by myself but unsuccessful.
So basically, I'm not sure how to configure Windower4 to play on Nasomi server. My googling skills led me to a few interesting leads but still didn't manage to make it work.
So far I think I need to edit settings.xml in the Windower folder by adding:

<executable>.\\ffxi-bootmod\\boot.exe</executable> (or maybe <executable>boot.exe</executable>?)
and
<args>--server nasomi.com</args>

I also tried adding those arguments in Windower's shortcut, every attempt ends up crashing Windower4 on launch and nothing happening afterward.
I'm sure it's pretty clear right now that I have no idea what I'm doing so if someone more familliar with this could help me, it would be wonderful.

Cheers

PS: I also know that plugins usage is very restrictive on Nasomi (which is a good point to me). I'm only planning to use Windower for the ambient light and the MapDrawDistance provided by the Config plugin.

Use the launcher that comes with the installer only. Nothing else is authorized.

Thanks Nabutso!

OK at least that's clear. I had to double check the Game rules and...yeah, you're right. I'm sorry I missed that line. I'll edit my post to make it even more visible for newcomer like me.

However, iirc while googling to fix my issue, I guess that's why I was misled, I saw you answering a post on January 18th saying this:

Quote:
Launch windower/Ashita/whatever you use

use the server flag to change it to nasomi. For ashita that means making it say --server nasomi.com in the boot config.

It was in this post: viewtopic.php?t=3886

On a sidenote, I noticed that the addon "DrawDistance" is bundled in the Nasomi Installer. Is it still forbidden?

I'm sorry if I'm bothering,
Cheers

It is not forbidden.

Ok that’s really cool. Actually at the very beginning I wanted to use the Ashita launcher but had difficulties to make the drawdistance addon work, it said “drawdistance.dll missing” in the in-game console. I didn’t put much effort in trying to fix it yet last night, so I’m not sure if there are already posts about it already.

Cheers

You were typing /load drawdistance. That's the wrong syntax, as it would be /addon load drawdistance. Additionally. you don't need to load it: it's already loaded by default. The drawdistance is also changed by default to 5, instead of 1, I believe. Type /drawdistance setworld x to change it.

I managed to get everything I want working now.
I uninstalled everything, did a clean new install. Decided to load drawdistance addon anyway even though it might be built-in. This time adding "/addon load DrawDistance" didn't show up the .dll missing message. Maybe I did it wrong yesterday.

Also, very important to those who want to set the drawdistance as well.
Remember to put in your Default.txt, in "Set Common Settings":

/wait 10
/drawdistance setworld 99

The "/wait 10" made it work for me, apparently it makes sure that the client was loaded before running the command.

Anyway, thanks for the help Nabutso, can't wait to jump into the game!

Take care
