There are no tutorial quests here. Those were added more recently in retail only.

What Nabutso was saying is that those quests don't exist on this server. Alaune won't give you any quests.

The retail game had a series of tutorial quests added in recent years, which is what you're reading about. Those don't exist here because they involve a lot of things that don't exist in Nasomi, such as Alter Egos (NPCs you can use as party members) or Sparks (points you can use to buy gear). Those things were added by Square Enix only in recent years to make the game more solo-friendly and are "out-of-era" for Nasomi. Nasomi is about recapturing the original game, which was party-driven and couldn't be played solo for the most-part. If you want to have those things you need to go play the retail game.

Additionally this game does not work like modern MMOs where you just follow questlines from level 1 to max level. There are quests but you only do them if you need something specific from them, like a spell scroll. You can just go level up for now and not worry about quests or missions (which are a different thing) until you need them for something.

Hi,

if you are looking for quests (Sandy) still or are thinking about taking a completionist route to finish all quests in San d'Oria you may want to check this out http://ffxiclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/Cate ... ria_Quests just keep in mind that some of these quests may not work (not coded or they may be newer than the server's goals) but the list should get you started.

If you're in Sandy I can give you some helpful tips for starting out! You will earn a little gil and reputation as you go too.

You'll be killing Rabbits, Worms and Bats for the most part, so hold on to the Hides, Flint stones and Wings. All these can be turned into NPCs in Sandy for gil and reputation increase.

Rabbit Hide x3 go to Parvipon - South Sandy (E-8)
Flint Stone x4 - Legata - South Sandy (K-6)
Bat Wing x2 - Secodiand - North Sandy (F-6)

When you can take on the Orcish Fodder, keep the Axe he drops to hand into the Sandy Guard for your first Mission completion (Smash the Scouts) - and keep turning them in for a bit of gil too.

ALWAYS have Signet up too, you'll get crystals which will always sell on AH and you'll earn Conquest points which can earn you some better gear at lvl 10.

Have fun!
