I had been fishing up forest carp and moat carp in Yuhtunga for money and skillups, and figured once I hit 20 I'd move on since forest carp are supposed to cap at 20. But after hitting 20 and deciding to work through the rest of my bait, I got another skillup on a forest carp.

Thought it was strange, but may have been an anomaly. Then it happened a couple more times. So forest carp do not cap at 20, but I haven't yet found how high they go.

Anyone experience this or know what their actual cap is?

If not, I'll keep fishing there until I cap out and then report back. Might be days or weeks, but it'll happen as soon as I take a break from WHM/BST soloing

I think it’s more likely that your fishing skill isn’t actually level 20.

Check what level it is here on the website, by clicking on Account at the top and logging in and checking Jobs and Crafts.

I received skillups after 20.0 as well in Yhoator Jungle, however it was at a much slower rate than 10-20. I believe some of their FishID have a slighlty higher skill level than the rest of the Forest Carp. I advise moving on after 20.0.

That makes sense. It's probably the same reason why the first few levels are so slow - some of the jellyfish are marked as items or at level 0, so you just don't skillup on catches as often.

You can go to 21 on Forrest Carp, I'm pretty sure it caps there. Moat Carp is 20.

I caught hundreds of moat carp in the jungle from 15-20 and never got a skillup off of them. Only skilled on forest carp.

I skilled up on both until 20, then only Forrest Carp gave skill ups to 21 as I was using the rest of my bait like you did.

You only catch Moat Carp and Forrest Carp in the Jungle (using Insect Balls), and you catch Moat Carp at a much high rate. I was consistently getting skill ups on Moat Carps until 20 when they capped off, and I only got skill ups after that from Forrest Carp till 21 when they capped.

Maybe I was mistaken? I spent a lot of time out there, so idk.
