This is just lag. What you're seeing is where the mob was 1 second ago according to the server: if you un-lock then run around the mob's avatar, and start running directly in front of it you'll swing on it. You just have to anticipate the lag. Instead, you follow the mob's "shadow" until the mob stops moving, and then you finally catch up to the point where it stopped and finally swing on it.

It was in era to a degree, but the effect is amplified on Nasomi. The enemies move a bit more frequently and they walk a much longer distance. I have no proof, just how it feels to me. I noticed this my first day on Nasomi and its incredibly frustrating for a new player with no ranged ability.

The source of frustration should be addressed because a lot of people don't know to do that.
