Since joining Nasomi I've been extremely excited to play the game again at the time it was at its best. However, I've recently heard some people speak of Blm and nerfs that have affected them. The general consensus is that BLM becomes bad in exp parties. That is arguable, but mostly true. That is also the reason that square made it possible to be innovative and explore alternate options of exping. Ie. Pet camps. It was not super fast. It was not cheating or extorting some glitch. It was hard, and you died often, but it could be done. The game wasnt designed so that everyone was forced to exp party, or play with others... It was designed so you could do what you wanted. Why was that punished? Was nerfing magic damage not enough... why nerf blms ability to gain exp also. It accomplished nothing but punishing people who enjoyed that style of gameplay and limiting peoples options on how to play the game. Especially with the unavailability of exp rings on Nsaomi. If there was some reasoning behind this that I didnt mention above that better explains pet camp exp nerfs, can someone please help me understand?

The pet exp was taken away long before any BLM nerfs. I was not on the server at the time so I cannot comment on why.

The reasons for the pet Nerf are no longer valid and I’ve heard that he would consider changing it back now.

I heard it was changed because population was low and soloing was discouraged in order for parties to be more easily formed

But I agree, I wish pet camps were fixed. It is a nice option to get some XP in downtime, at the least.

Now if he just didnt like it, and wants to force people to play more together I can get down with that. I've seen a lot of people screaming how it was OP and hacking and cheating and so on. That's why I asked. Though it seems like if that was the case, he would have accommodated some in the earlier levels at least to make them a little more appealing for exp parties. Doing pet camps on blm was one of the most enjoyable things I remember from playing back in the day. Makes me sad.

A long time ago, monster pets used to always re-spawn within 3-5 seconds of being killed. This allowed for crazy fast solo exp. Since that is no longer the case, Nas may return pet experience to normal again, but someone probably have to remind him as he most likely forgot about the changes he made to it.
