A long time ago I bought Final Fantasy XI but before I could even install it, a series of hilariously terrible events unfurled and in short, I found myself without a computer or a place to live (your choice as to which is worse). I think I'm spending my birthday (I'm 29 today!) installing FFXI because I want some closure from that part in my life... and also I just really wanna play this game.

This server is the first community I'm trying as its dedicated to a time in which I would have been a part of had my godfather not held strong beliefs against my high school metal band.

I played in retail off-and-on for 5 years in the "golden age" (imo). At the time that I began, the maximum possible level was fifty.

I never did experience the times when level 99 ruined the game. When I heard it was coming to a close, I was anxious to get back.. when I discovered it was "ruined" I thought, "nah - the game is 'dead,' already.

When I found that there are private servers, I thought "hm...."

But, most are "give-away" - which is fine for many, but I suppose I'm simply "Nasomian at heart" - perhaps just as I am more fond of Bastok.

I started here about Nov 2015.

Thus, I have initiated a linkshell called "Bastok Republic" which anyone may use to further players who similarly feel the "pull" of being a part of that City-Community.

Hello, I am trying to join the game again. I played ffxi from 2004 - 2014, I miss the old way the game played. I was on Carbuncle server, a tarutaru named Dominaria, although this time around I plan to make a male named Foliel. Wanted to introduce myself while I try to download everything.
