He could be offering a correction for the number of people afk in towns. Between mules and mains it's easily 200 ppl. I stay logged in on my main overnight but I'm not generally playing overnight. I know that doesn't quite get you to the numbers he's suggested, but some of my European friends have commented that they wish Nas wouldn't count dual box/bazaar chars in the level sync tiers.

The value he set is already so high as to account for those types of people.

ex: 400 with then not counted vs 600 but the mules etc count and there's 200 of them.

it's not that high when you live in the EU. population when im awake is around 3-400 ^^

That can't be possible since Nas's pop doesn't dip below 700 even at the absolute lowest overnight:

this exactly. Dunes are empty when I am awake, and some NM camps are wide open during that time. 3-400 might be exaggerated low for the actual number online, but as opposed to peak hours, there is a huge difference in the amount of people online during EU daytime.

I wont run trains on people since i know RMT is strictly prohibited and the consequences are severe. Do you guys think theres more opportunity for NM since this is a smaller server?

Did you say... smaller server?

This is like the second largest FFXI server, after retail Asura. lol.

I don't have any numbers, but I think in comparison to retail 2006ish, this is still on the small side.

I seem to remember logging in to about 2k ppl on a Saturday night on retail during the high point of ToAU content. Nasomi usually runs at what 1500-1600 at prime time? Whether I was on a crowded server (retail) or not I have no idea. Was on Midgardsormr.

NA primetime on Siren would hit 2-3k players nightly during ToAU. JP primetime would see that jump to 4k+.

Nasomi is creeping up to what the servers were like in-era but is still a ways behind.
