If there is a gate near the outpost I'll run over to it and rent a Choco, but with the influx of new blood into the server the last few months the prices just aren't worth me spending the money on a short ride. Rather have a long run and save money then over spend for a short ride. Which then can make the argument Nasomi wants us to spend more, but with high prices more people will refuse to spend and rather save their Gil. So it's counter productive.

Just bet all of your gil on the patriots.. When you win double your money back these choco prices will seem like a joke!

I hate the Patriots, but sadly I don't see the Rams coming out with the big W on this one. I feel like the majority feel the same so the payout won't be that great.

The AH is a free market. The Chocobo renting system is not even close to what a free market is by definition.

The Chocobo renting system is definitely free, just with NPCs.

More chocobos, more demand, higher prices. It's really that simple.

If it's too expensive for too many people, price goes down.

It stabilizes at a point where people are OK paying for a chocobo because it's worth the price.

If YOU think chocobos are too expensive, just don't use them. Take an outpost that's closer instead of a WHM teleport. Be a THF and Flee instead. Use Powder boots if not a THF. There are options, alternatives. Pick 1, or none, and don't spend money.

A free market can only exist when there is competition. Example being the AH. If you place an item in the AH for 1k and I place the same item in the AH for 500, my item will sell before yours because my cost is lower and I am now a competitor. That is by definition what a free market is. A computer system that is predetermined to act a certain way is by no means a free market.

You totally ignored the options I presented that give you alternatives that essentially make it a competitive, player-driven free market. Just because they're competing with an automated system doesn't mean it isn't free. Most stock trades in the real world are run entirely by computers.

It's supply and demand... if you're going out of Jeuno, try another one of the zones, each jeuno zone has it's own chocobo price.

if the prices are affecting you this much that you have to complain on the forums, then you need to review your money making strategies..
