So I was wondering my friend told my Wife and I about this FFXI server and we wanted to play some good old nostalgia, Then he tells me that 2 accounts will get us banned from the same IP...

Is it possible to somehow verify that we are indeed 2 separate people playing 2 separate accounts?

You can totally play with your wife on the same IP, with each person having a different account. Many of my friends on the server play as a couple.

The only thing you have to watch out for is gathering activities (or HELMFing):

• Harvesting
• Excavating
• Logging
• Mining
• Fishing

The above activities you are not allowed to do on more than one character at a time per household. Keep in mind Nasomi does not joke around with punishment.

Another question I have is when my Wife tries to login to her account it just shows her my character... and she can't make her own character?

Seems super weird that the database would just load the last character based on the IP?

You mean in-game, in the character selection screen? It's a bug, I've heard it can happen to people living together.

I'd say relog into the game and make sure she uses her "character account" created under her "forum account", and not yours.

Each character account only allows one character on it, and you can have three character accounts per person (one person = one forum account).

Finally, note that the third character account on a forum account is labelled "Mule" and has limited gameplay (level 10 max).
