To your face, or not in your language. I knew many Japanese players who openly talked mad shit whenever the said person left the party. They're just more polite about it. They'll find an excuse to break party, and than reform the party without the bad players.

I do find it kind of interesting to add certain restrictions to FFXI, for the fun of it. But this is a era server, or at least whatever Nasomi thinks is fun, because its his server, and his alone. This isn't a community effort, like Eden or other servers with multiple developers and taking polls of what people want. If you want to remove Ninja, that is a specific complaint that I don't believe any private server has done. You'll have to make your own server.

Honestly, I think an era server for Japanese era 2002 would be pretty fucking hilarious, just for the lulz. Level 50 cap, nobody can beat Shadow Lord because he was impossible. The true classic FFXI experience, lol.

i also think theres something wrong with defense or damage or both. while leveling pld on this server ive noticed in exp parties i tend to take the same kind of damage with berserk up as i do defender and that wasnt the case from what i remember when i leveled on retail way back when

The wheel is round for a reason, it was the best shape to roll shit with. Rolling shit was easier than dragging shit, or pushing shit. So people figured out how to use a fucking wheel. You don't have to sub nin, go play whatever sub you want. Don't expect the rest of the players to wait on you to drag your shit or push your shit, while the just roll their shit right past you. Antihuman doesn't get to make the definition of the word "Respect"



1. That's called authority, not respect.

2. Human Decency is what you mean. There's no such thing as basic human respect. Those are called manners, which are ettiquette, has nothing to do with respect.

3. Respect is something to value, the fact you feel undervalued because of the respect someone else has earned, is indicative that you either get no respect from your peers, or have a serious issue with your self esteem, or both.

4. No you don't give respect to automatically get respect. You prove yourself to become respected. You can respect me all day long, but you'll have to pardon me if I pay you no fuks in return.

Respect isn't the same as consideration. I can respect my enemy and plan to destroy them at the same time.

You got respect and decency mixed up. If you're bitching about /nin, nobody owes you "Respect", If I talk shit to you about this post, you don't owe me "Respect". If we see each other starving in the street we owe each other the decency of sharing a bite of food though.

Could be a bait post but eh, some fool may read that bullshit about respect and get a false idea that scars their ability to make good decisions.

I played the game since NA release, I understand how it was in 2005. Again, I ask, why is your gripe with Nasomi and his "vision" of this game. Your issue is with the creators of the game. They never forsaw how people would play NIN either, NIN was supposed to be a DD with blink to keep it alive because it was fragile, then the community figured out you could hold hate with damage/spells and turned the subjob/job of NIN into what it is today. They had every chance to nerf Utsusemi to the ground, they could have made it lvl 38. They didn't. Personally Im glad they didnt, because blink tanking an HNM used to be one of the most challenging and fun things out there when it comes to MMO tanking. (before the icons listed shadows, Utsusemi Ichi couldnt overwrite itself, etc) Now it's still something that takes a degree of skill, and can get you killed if you dont do it correctly.

Tank and spanking things is boring, PLD/WAR is boring. The game evolved since 2005, and fights were made in anticipation of Utsusemi being a thing; it's not as all powerful in later fights as it was in earlier ones. It's still one of the most unique and fun game mechanics in any MMO out there, and involves a degree of interaction that most MMO's don't ask of you, especially in the early 2000's. Yes I partially agree Nasomi's community is a little too gungho on /NIN for experience PTs. I for one am an advocate of offensive subjobs and efficient mana usage/proper refresh, but I understand it is a perfect storm that is only slightly more efficient than everyone just being gimp and subbing /NIN.

thing is, i don't even disagree that's it's too OP, changing /nin to blink shadows rather than utsusemi ones and have it as NIN main having normal shadows would be a good step, but even then it'd still be used.

SE were never good in regards to balance, i guess they lay a bit too hard on the "well, you can be any job you want!" so why bother balancing.

any balancing they did often came way too late and was rarely on the mark. NIN is weird because it apparently fit a role they weren't intending for it to fill and it filled it way too damn well (though those claims of it supposed to be a DD are a bit dubious).

you won't get real answers here though mate, nasomi as a community is really kinda closeminded with how they view changes, nor will you get nas to change shadows or fix it, even if it is kinda bullshit how strong it is as a sub.
