If you aren't, then you probably don't know how shit works. You think these guys know that when you use a VPN it uses the outside IP of the VPN? Shit maybe you thought it created like an IP sec tunnel between you and the server, with your IP being the registered IP and just going through a tunnel. This really is akin to basically being like "Well 3 ppl in TS cheated... so sorry all of TS gotta go cause you all have green pearls and I Just can't tell the difference!" I mean right... don't associate with cheaters. Oh wait maybe you guys didn't know Baldr was cheating, or others were scraping data.. innocence right? Well not for the Chinese players, what if they didn't know that a handful of them are cheating? You think they gonna post in logs "Hey guys I'm cheating now, just an FYI so... yeah" So instead, they just all get the ban.

I mean it's not that hard to understand with a quick Google. China in March 2018 announced another sweep of VPN bans, so the ones you can use are limited. So Nas sees a China IP and does some shit for the DDoS and then they lose functionality to search the AH and shit, form groups, etc. As they stated in another post, they let him know, but nothing changed for a few weeks. Unfortunately in this game, that can be a lot of time, especially when it's something you enjoy doing.

So nothing changed, they took a peek and holy shit, look at that. 8Lag VPN is a very popular VPN in China. Holy shit it's specifically advertised for gaming. Wow that's just crazy that a bunch of people might use that same VPN.

So then a few of the ppl are cheating. Those dirty dirty boys. So now errybuddy gotta pay huh?

It's a lot of work for sure, but you could even just hear them out. The people like yasou or w/e don't seem like the one's who did shit. I mean the lady with her son like lvl 50... really dude? They weren't taking place in it. I mean you can just look at the chars and be like "oh yeah shit, that one couldn't have done it" Too much time? I mean you're the one who started a server and wanted to people to play on it. And now you gonna pick and choose who you help? FFXI is about community man, help everyone.

I play on EU time and do Dyna same time as people from ABC when they started build more groups. Ouer group had wait many hour to get inside when we started go there earlier 06:00 morning to stand in line. The people from ABC logged on extra player accounts just to hold slots for other members in ABC so ouer wait time was 5-12 hour go get inside some days. Also people in my Dyna group and many other LS asked them to stop doing 2-3 daily runs but they just continued. I also been camping against them on EU time at KA and LOO if the Chinese was alone at camp spot they been few but if any other LS come they logged on alot extra accounts sometimes 10-40 to make it wery hard for other LS player get any claim. When KA popped sometimes with 60 people camping 3-4 started fight then some was totally afk some direct got dc after spawn. Could clearly see there was few people who managed wery many player accounts.

So we've talked about the IP aspect to death.

I like a lot of the people in ABC and Loyalty. I've had good interactions with them.

But: Why are the Chinese players not using the account binding functionality? Why are there so many extra accounts? I can understand everyone recommending a good VPN solution to each other if it works well with Nas, but I can't figure out what legitimate reason there would be for not following the rules regarding the maintaining of forum account:game accounts. If everyone had been doing this, it would have made it much easier for Nas to separate which accounts belonged to the people caught cheating and which didn't.

MAC addresses operate on layer 2. By the time you leave your home LAN your traversing of the internet is primarily based on layer 3 communication. The MAC in a packet changes every time it moves from one switching device to another. Unless you're collecting the MAC address with software and sending it back, then you can't see what MAC they are using on the other side of the internet.
