Being poor isn't a requirement for replaying the only enjoyable moment in mmo history, which is something the official dickheads refuse to offer us. Any admin that's not evidently profiting from their server can simple reply to a C&D to say "offer the product we emulate from 2006, and we'll gladly shut down" and all's well. The problem comes when their task force can provide evidence in court that the server is indeed making a profit, or operating in a manner that can potentially produce profit. Eden core admins have been through this before, they know what you're never going to know. If it's a legit C&D and they're not compromised ny evidence, then they know how to handle it. Godmode may be spooked, only he knows for sure, and the rest of their team may be looking for a way to dodge action with a crossover again, only they know what their goals are. Either way, anything outside of their own circle, will only be assumptions. Many of the teams that's been at this awhile have stepped down voluntarily and sidetracked any legal issues by complying with C&D's, it has never been a mark of weakness, or an admittance of corruption. What it has done (rather successfully) is put a stop to any trial that could doom us all by setting legal precedent. At the moment we are able to all enjoy what we have, because over the years this has been understood and followed religiously, and so we've been able to stay in a grey area without consequence. However if newer generations want to get hot headed and fight back against the owners of this intellectual property, there's not a court in the world, that wouldn't use that trial as legal precedent to kill everything any of us have worked for. Stay smart, remember the big picture, don't get cocky and keep whatever shit you do close to your chest, so we can all enjoy this era please.

Pretty sure that there's only been 1 server that had a donation option, and yea they got C&D'd. If you're talking about Eden, they didn't have a donation button for the server.

Never once seen either server ask ingame for donations, or anywhere else either. I do remember the donate button that goes directly to atom0s on the site though. If anyone is trying to profit, they're doing a pr bad job rn.
