Resist doesn't build over time? An NM i wasn't even aware that could be slept or bound was claimed after I wiped to it at 8%hp, then it was slept and bound over and over again for over game day. Is this retail accurate? (I didn't play retail except a little at pc release)

Depends on the NM.

A lot of NMs don’t build resistance, but there is a rule saying how long you are allowed to hold. A game day is within the rules, and I’m not sure what the repop is for the NM being discussed. From my perspective, the no resistance buildup of NMs and the NM hold time limit are intentionally made to function together. Normal mobs build resistance.
