Arch Linux w/ i3wm. You can PM and we can chat to get you resolved if we need to. Or we can play thread ping pong here. Things to check immediately are...

1. The libraries being loaded
2. a stack / backtrace of when it crashes

No need for thread ping pong (I can't PM yet due to being new).

I got it fixed. After I looked at the backtrace it was the imm32 that was throwing the error. That's when I realized I was being really stupid. I only put the file under /usr/lib/wine and not /usr/lib32/wine. So with FFXI being in a 32 bit prefix...yeah it'll crash if my idiot self doesn't put the file under lib32 as well. ;)

But It is now running on Solus Linux with Plasma Desktop. Kernel 4.17.3 and WINE 3.12

Many thanks!

The wiki has been down all day. I have been trying to read how to setup on Ubuntu 18.04 (hopefully with lutris).

Main wiki has been offline since I started last month, this here is the same install instructions:
https://nwiki.fandom.com/wiki/Installat ... using_WINE

Let me know if you get it going with 18.04 because someone tried and could not, going to try this PlayOnLinux guide out again here myself - viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4203&p=80740&hilit=playonlinux#p80740

otherwise I suspect 18.04 no longer works with Nasomi even tried the new winehq PPA using wine-stable & staging 5.10, definitely will work on ubuntu 20.04 I have that running with wine-staging 5.10

To be clear, the install process that has recently worked for me on ubuntu 20.04 was only following the wiki install directions with wine-staging 5.10. The directory your modified imm32.dll.so needs to go may be different than stated in the guide. To figure out this path make sure to reboot if just installed a new version of Wine so the find command sees the new files it seems:
Code:
sudo find /usr imm32.dll.so | grep imm32.dll.so

Some versions of Wine I have found to not include an imm32.dll.so, that being the case I believe you will have try a different Wine version. The install wiki states specific versions of Wine that work though I have not had the same success.

Multiple imm32.dll.so have been detected for me so I usually just rename all the old ones imm32.dll.so-OLD and paste in two modified versions (sudo required) - imm32.dll.so-nasomi as a backup in case Wine updates and overwrites, and imm32.dll.so as the functional modified nasomi file. Updating Wine or installing a new version WILL overwrite this modified imm32.dll.so causing you need to repeat this process, I recommend writing a bash script to do this automatically or in some way become familiar so maybe bookmark affected directories so you can quickly fix the file.

Lastly I figure making sure the files are executable is best so
Code:
sudo chmod +x imm32.dll.so

Speaking of the modified imm32.dll.so, I have recently tried to find it here and only found broken links (maybe it come bundled with the main installer?) so I will upload it here linking it for you I hope this is a fine upload site, maybe this link will last awhile. Best of luck and again very curious to hear of success with an 18.04 ubuntu.
Download imm32.dll.so -- https://ufile.io/bteclkgm

Simply make a copy of that imm32.dll.so_nasomi file and call it imm32.dll.so so it can functionally replace that same file that comes bundled with your Wine install.

I provide a copy of the DLL on my blog here: https://vaughanhilts.me/assets/bf9bf6a4 ... m32.dll.so

You can find a Linux dual boxing guide here as well: https://vaughanhilts.me/blog/2018/10/27 ... l-box.html

You can contact me from the various links on the blog if you need help.

I think I am very close to getting this done now. I am using Lutris with Ubuntu 18.04. When I try to launch the game the logs just show it login looping repeating to ask me for my credentials for Nasomi.

Thanks for all the help. Also my account says I cannot private message. So I am not being rude if I dont reply but it wont let me jajaja.

I officially have this working on Ubuntu 18.04 with Lutris. I will probably contribute a lutris install script and contribute to the project.

Also I did not have to override any dll's or anything.
