I'm wondering if I can use Japanese language POL and FFXI with Nasomi if I follow the install
instructions just using Japanese version instead of US.

Unfortunately you need the NA client in order to play on our server.

It is possible, but no one has done research on how to do it. You're welcome to give it a try and share your results.

hi,i'm using Japenese client to play Nasomi server.
Here are some registry and file you must manipulate.
1.After installing japenes client,download the 64bit pol(english ver) and run it.1st time it will delete your japenese pol viewer, after that run it one more time and it will install us version into your pc(Assume you're running 64bit os)
2.run regedit as adm. FFXI's regestry should be in the hkey_local_machine/software/wow6432nod/playonline
export the 1.product,2.Sequare/FinalFantasyXI these 2 regestry into any folder,and edit them use notepad as ,1: /PlayonlineUS/product,2:PlayOnlineUS/SequareEnix/FinalFantasyXI and import them back to your regestry.

3.delete the "FTABLE.DAT" in your ff folder.
4.run pol and you should be able to see ffxi in your us version pol viewer,then update it ,run Ahita,,

This is the the method I used to connect to Nasomi.

So you are playing the JP game using the NA POL to update? That's cool. Thanks man for figuring this out. Had a few JP players wanting to know how to do this. Also sounds like you have some weird crossover bugs doing that. lol Post them in here to in case someone has a question. And one more thing, can you post the instructions in Japaneses for others?

I think NA/JA/EU clients are all the same,the differences are the"FTABLE.DAT"and regestry name.
It seems FTABLE.DAT decides which font the client side will use.
I'm not native japenese spearker,but I will simply explain it below.
Nasomi鯖への繋がり方
1 FFXIをインストールしてください、polとすべての拡張データです。
2 FFXI をバックアップしてください。
3 US版のPOL Viewer落としてくさい。公式のリンクは以下で

4.落としたのSETUP.exe起動、１回目は日本版のPOL Viewerを消される、済んだらもう一度起動するとUS版のPOL Viewerをインストールする。
5.Regedit を管理者として起動する。64bitのOS使ってる場合、以下のregestryを変更するの必要があります。
　hkey_local_machine/software/wow6432nod/playonline/　←　これは日本版の設定です
　hkey_local_machine/software/wow6432nod/playonlineUS/　←　これはアメリカ版の設定です
　日本版のから Product と　/Square/FinalFantasyXI/ この二つを勝手な場所にエクスポートする。名前はなんでも構いません。
　Notepadでその二つのregestryを開いて編集します。
　エクスポートしたのproductは以下に変更
　一番上の　HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\PlayOnline\Square　を
　HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\PlayOnlineUS\SquareEnix に変更する
　その下の　HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\PlayOnline\Square\FinalFantasyXI　は
　HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\PlayOnlineUS\SquareEnix\FinalFantasyXI に変更
　
　エクスポートしたの　　/Square/FinalFantasyXI/ は
　一番上の　HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\PlayOnline\Square\FinalFantasyXI　から
　HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\PlayOnlineUS\SquareEnix\FinalFantasyXI に変更
　終わったら。この二つのファイルをクリックするとregestryに自動に追加される
　
6.FFXiフォルダー中のFTABLE.DATを別の名前を命名してください、例えばFTABLE(copy).DAT
7.US版のpol起動、うまくいけばいまにはちゃんとｆｆインストールしたの認識される。ファイルチェックでｆｆを更新する。
8.終わったらAshitaでｆｆを起動できると思います。US版の設定はｆｆフォルダーの中にいる/ToolsUS/FINAL FANTASY XI Config.exeで

以上です、これは自分でnasomi鯖への繋がり方、100％繋げるは保証しません。起動したらインターフェースはもちろん英語のままです。
昔には別のloaderが日本語のままで起動できるですか、nasomi鯖はまだ検証していません。
