Looks like people who are glad its gone are established endgame players who are rarely on MH or there to troll anyway, the ones in established LSs with a decent amount of leveled jobs or PL alts / carrys. For a new player, they have to shout in their zone and hope to find help or a decent LS to get anywhere. Lower leveling and missions are a pain when brand new and harder to get help, just look at how long it took some to get past 2-3 with the help of a server LS. If you didn't like MH why not drop it before? Allowing a server chat with actual admin sackholders with the ability to kick and help control trolls and misinformation would be a start. Watching my wife who is new to the game struggle to get anything done since the break due to not being able to find help / others to lvl with especially trying to lvl a whm sub with most dunes pts already being PL and hardly any LFG aside from whm and thf in the correct range duo to low pop. Almost forcing you to create your own PL alt or having me always PL which I do from time to time but makes it harder on my progression. I can understand somewhat if jeuno became a hub, but what about the new players struggling through dunes and getting SJ with limited access to creating PTs especially when all camps are already taken by senior players and their PL who might not know about or be able to reach it before being bored of playing alone. Its worse than retails especially if they are actually new to FFXI also makes it harder for people who actually like helping others progress, i can only imagine the pain creating limit break and AF crews outside of established LSs.

Also everyone here calling it cancer isnt that also just rehashing the same arguments against why you dont like it. Just saying, everyone against MH have all said the same exact thing. I wasnt the biggest fan but saw the actual usefulness of it that you really can not compare to anything related to era(ish) FFXI.

Yeah, yeah, people always love to say things like this. Older players encountered a whole different set of problems and benefits. The server is an ongoing experiment, with nas learning new things as players complain and praise, and then the server evolves. I believe in you guys continuing to complain and offer up alternatives, because that's how it goes, as I just said. Rulkar's post is a very good example of this. But you should just stick to the merits of your argument instead of repeating the "only the old players are against it" line that has never once mattered and only starts a different argument.

The volume of players in MH made it easier to find people, but also made a tremendous amount of noise (some of it detrimental to others or sowing confusion about the state of the server).

It is harder to find people now, and it is difficult to figure out where to congregate.

I am in an established shell, and I suffered the same issues Saturday morning - when I was most excited to play, only 3 other humans were available and they wanted to do other things.

I don't know what the answer is, but I would like to help.

My characters almost 2 years so granted not the longest lived, however new players not being able to get help / progress easily will turn players away. Most people I've heard say they are glad MH is gone is never on or active in MH anyways, so as I said why not drop pearl and let "noobs" continue on. I gave a possible alternative as well which was a server chat with actual moderation. As it is, I see both the struggles of someone new to XI as well as senior members who would like to help but having it harder to find those who need although still not usually to big an issue.

I know FFXI isn't supposed to be easy but people brand new or with limited play times will find these changes even harder to deal with. I am well aware that this is nas's hobby and we deal with things as they come, and I've seen a lot of changes good and bad. I've heard a lot of complaints and talking downs from older players, I know you had your issues but no need to minimize what new players go through either.

I started as a solo whm to 37 to lvl bst solo so that I could progress on my own, with it I was able to solo almost all my AF as I did have help with my AF3 fight, as well ad my G1, G2 I did have help buy just a few lvls later was already soloing it for others albeit slowly, back then there wasn't as much activity in MH as there was before its end and had there been more I probably would have leveled other jobs more quickly. I struggled my way up as a BST knowing of the grind of FFXI but I recently got my wife to play and its hard for me to keep her interested when I am still working on my own progressions while helping her and teaching her as well as some of the other newer players she's been in contact with.

There was just too much ambiguity on what role MogHouse was supposed to play. Making something that huge and having it just be "for communication purposes" was asking for trouble here. Even if this game wasn't full of anonymous alts there's just too many new players coming in and out for it not to be a toxic cesspool full of misinformation and drama.

All we ever needed was a strictly LFG/Trade only channel. Even if there's no Admin set for it and the rules were clear that it was *only* to be used for groupmaking and trades. It could have even virtually moderated itself. (ex: Prohibited subjects were always shotdown even in Moghouse for fear of the Nas Boogeyman). Enable the city linked shout system retail uses with a clear ruleset and call it a day.

Nobody should bother minimizing anyone's experiences, which is what you did to end game players in your previous post.

Moghouse LS has been problematic to nasomi for a couple years at least. Veteran players either stayed out of the shell or contributed to the trolling. New players thought they were receiving official information, because it was the server shell. Like, the amount of time that past between fps addon no longer being allowed, and it no longer getting talked about in moghouse was a very long time. Nasomi already puts in an enormous amount of work and is not going to moderate chat. He simply can not begin to deal with all the problems this server creates for him, so he has to force the player base to evolve in ways that do it for him. He needs help, but that's his decision. Individual players who create noob friendly Linkshells will moderate those shells for the benefit of new players, and the ones that do not probably will not last long. The only thing the server has really lost is a serverwide means to forming groups for things. Nasomi might actually respond to a request for an alternative instead of "give us back moghouse." Like what whisp said above.

Didn't get a MH pearl until I had two jobs at 75, and even then I only had it on my alt, not on Gweivyth, but I never really felt the need to have it. I joined BastokRepublic early on and that's all I really needed. People will be fine without it.

New to Nasomi and have a question? PM me, I'd be glad to help!

In the recent months I took two jobs to 75 and never used moghouse to gain exp invites or seek parties. You'd be surprised how many people do /sea all inv and build parties from that. The only issue with it is that there is a bug where if invited outside of the zone with party flag up it won't remove seeking flag upon accepting invite which clutters that inv list. If search comments and list truncation going past 18 people are fixed, it will help a lot to build parties.

I think we could use a better central hub, the circuit is and has been mostly unpopular as a central hub. Jeuno would be a great place, wouldn't mind seeing that return in a way that makes sense. God help new players that start in windy, it is a deadzone and even most of sandy isn't full of people. The only city zone that is consistently lit is Bastok Mines these days.

100% i wish nasomi would spend osme time fixing things around this system. great suggestions.

For some reason, I often see shouts in MH looking for a job that were already seeking... MH: needs healer 30+, and there's 33 whm seeking for example.
