Ty all for the tips. After two days of playing, I think I'm going into the RDM mainly. I think is a better choice for solo playing. Now I'm trying to get to the lvl 11-12 and then I'm going to change to WHM (but I don't have gear for it so it begins again...).

Now I wear the Scale mail "set", a maple shield, San d'Oria's ring and the onion sword.

You can find me killing mobs around Ronfaure. This is tough...

See you!

Everyone likes to race to level in the early going.. but ive found its usually a good idea to stop and quest everything you can for gil and then and also take few of the main jobs to level 10 before starting down the path of whatever job youre interested in

Totally agreed on all the great tips given by people here. The quests help in numerous ways, so getting those done to make cash and fame is strongly advised.

If you feel like making a run south from Sandy, camp this Notorious Monster: https://ffxiclopedia.fandom.com/wiki/Maighdean_Uaine

The earring is helpful for meleeing those low levels, and you can kill things for drops and small xp while doing it. Treant bulbs from the wandering saplings sell for a decent amount and there are also crabs and gobs in the area.

This NM is right by you and its staff is also super useful to have because it decreases the time spent resting: https://ffxiclopedia.fandom.com/wiki/Swamfisk

Another one near you that's useful: https://ffxiclopedia.fandom.com/wiki/Fungus_Beetle

Funguar NM close to the Fungus Beetle: https://ffxiclopedia.fandom.com/wiki/Amanita

And another: https://ffxiclopedia.fandom.com/wiki/Spook

Keep in mind that NMs generally have more HP than mobs of the same level, and will present more of a challenge. Exercise caution and make sure you're at least a few levels above them.

This is a cheap food option for meleeing at low levels that you can find pretty cheap from vendors. I tend to use it when lvling from 1-15 or so: https://ffxiclopedia.fandom.com/wiki/Meat_Jerky

Good luck!

Oh, also a heads up that RDM gets really pricey with spells. You'll spend around half a million on them by lvl 50 or so, with current prices. Farming them and doing BCNM fights will cut that down drastically. The spell Refresh alone is the majority of that cost, so if you can get that to drop you'll be in a much better position.

Just figured that's worth mentioning since lvling a mage can be especially challenging for cost-conscious players.

One thing I did when I started on Nasomi was to solo THF to the 30s, just by farming and wandering around doing quests. I was surprised at how quickly and easily it happened, honestly. At lvl 15 you get Treasure Hunter, which will help you get more drops. It's viable to use THF as a subjob so you can use TH and Flee (big speed enhancement for 30 seconds), but it's also just fun to play THF. It has a high evasion bonus that increases survivability somewhat. Just don't expect many party invites as THF.
