Also you could try picking up a craft. Fishing is an easy one, and you can dump 20 minutes here and there into it when you feel like it. Cooking can go hand in hand with it as well since you'll be fishing up a lot of the mats. Otherwise, any of the crafts can be fun with the right mindset, and you can go at your own pace. Or you can fill up the auction house using HELM activities. That can be rewarding too.

Luckily, I got mine done in about 30 mins. Fire hit pretty quick, got lucky. However, I just sat in the desert between eastern and western. Zoning back and forth every 5 mins or so. Then I was messaging others in areas I needed weather. If they said lightning was up. I would warp, go grab it, and then come back. People are really helpful and understand the pain of SMN unlock.
