I managed to extract the files running 7 Zip itself as Admin. I see no difference with the files installed though. Also, Shadows are not working. They'll flash on for a split second when I zone, but then disappear. They're not vital to game play, but they add to the experience visually.

You don't see an fps increase?

For the shadow problem, check the .ini file that came with it.

No, no difference.

I have no idea what to do with an .ini file or which one you are asking me to check or where it is. Modifying games like this isn't my area of expertise. I kind of need to be walked through it.

I played the official FFXI and had almost all jobs at 99, so the game isn't new to me. Only this set up is and, it seems, every time I fix one problem, another crops up. Shadows still broken and now my controller isn't recognized by the game. It was working fine yesterday and this morning - was even correctly calibrated. Now nothing!

Just looking to enjoy some good old times with my son in FFXI again!

I can't help with the controller but if you've got a dual-gpu setup, that dx9 fix should have helped your performance, not remove shadows.. I don't know, everything you have seems strange

I installed those dll files you recommended (the files for fps) and now my shadows disappeared as well. Removed them and shadows are back. Is there a fix to this?

Ok I noticed that despite getting my resolution the way I want it set up. Everything is in place EXCEPT the TP Counter number (TP Party) that shows in the player solo and party box. (TP Party) The number is not showing under my name like it's supposed to, but it appears on the bottom OUTSIDE of the box.

My 4k laptop screen display resolution is: 3840 x 2160

Here are the rest of my settings from the Final Fantasy Config:

Overlay Graphics Resolution - 3840 x 2160

Background Resolution - 3840 x 2160

Menu Resolution - 1024 x 768

If anyone can help me, this would be greatly appreciated. I'm almost there. Just need to see the TP number under my name in the Solo/Party member box in the bottom right corner properly. HP & MP are fine.
