So first off, to anyone who claims that having 2 characters in a zone on an NM that can spawn over a large area isn't an advantage, you're a total idiot. (Stray Mary, VE, for low level example)
No. I have barely ever missed a claim on VE when camping him, including against dual boxers, solo. As I've said multiple times here: I love it when people show up with dual boxed characters to try and compete against me, because it means I'm going to have an easier time than if it was against real people.
There's some quirks to how NMs spawn on Nasomi vs. retail, and they are infinitely more important to your success rate than anything else, and some of them are specifically made harder by attempting to dual box. If this wasn't a post made by people complaining about how they can't claim NMs, I'd probably post them, because they're not particularly secret. I'll drop a hint, though: Go on Twitch and watch some of Rekuza's VE camping streams from back in the day. He sometimes explains it outright, sometimes it's just very obvious from what he's doing.

If I have 2 laptops with FFXI running with 2 characters a 20 second run away from each other, I literally have twice the chance the NM will spawn in front of me. I don't need to alt tab anything, I just move my hands to the second keyboard and hit a claim macro, if you can't do that in less time than it takes to run 20 seconds, I'm not really sure what to say. If I'm camping against you, I'll have my alt far away at another NM spawn point you need to run to, then I'll shadow you on my main. If it spawns in range of us, it's a 50 50 on who gets it assuming we have the same skill. If it spawns by my alt, I just move my hands a foot and a half and the spawn is mine 100% rather than a race for us to get to it. If you're trying to tell me being in 2 places at once isn't an advantage, you're lying to yourself and this discussion.
I don't know why you think having to physically move your hands from one keyboard to another is faster than alt tabbing, but it definitely is. The same problems apply, except now you've got more physical move time in the equation as well.
For the 1/250 instance where you're dual boxing and your primary character is on the opposite end of the earth and your secondary is right on top of it when it spawns, sure, maybe you get that claim in a dual box situation and you don't otherwise. But the other 249 claims you have hindered yourself by putzing around with two machines wasting time trying to figure out which character is closer, etc.

And to the few people I noticed that said I'm butthurt I was outclaimed on an NM and need to git good, I'm actually new on the server and I've never been outclaimed by a dual boxer, but I've ran past NM spawns and seen matching names many times.
Cool. So you're complaining about a problem you've imagined but never experienced. This doesn't lend credence to your argument, it actively dismisses it.

Regardless of current interpretation of rules or what's allowed, I firmly believe that now that this servers population is more than 80, dual boxing is an issue that destroys entire portions of the economy.(high level players dual boxing low level content such as mining Zeruhn while doing stuff on their mains that they wouldn't normally be bothered to do because they can make more money elsewhere, but when dual boxing it's a little bump to overall profits with minimal work, this tanks and takes away profitable options away from low level players, etc) This is why you see posts of new players asking why early game economy is so bad compared to back in the day. It's largely due to dual boxing and partially due to the 100 cap on AH.
Who in the world do you think is playing on their 75 while mining in Zeruhn? You have such a weird perception of what's going on.
And the economy here is different because the situation is different. The people playing the game here largely understand how the game works, which you couldn't say of the general population back in FFXI. People understand how beneficial HQ versions of some gear is, and how little it matters on others. OWNMs exist. Some BCNMs don't. Some KSNMs don't. Some quested items can't or previously couldn't be acquired. Iridal/Chatoyant exists and didn't on retail. Some classes don't function properly, for the better or worse. Some classes aren't as desirable for EXP parties because Square didn't balance them well for it, and now people know it. This all effects how the economy works. The economy isn't worse on Nasomi, but it definitely is different. Stuff like v cloak and noble's tunic is WAY cheaper here than it was for the era on retail.

No amount of gil will change the fact this is an issue, plus, I don't want your greasy dual boxed gil lmao. I'll keep farming it on my single character the way the game was meant to be played
I don't think you're going to be happy on this server, lol.

Honestly I didn't read many of the pages on here because I know there's a lot of people who are going full defense mode because they feel like they're getting attacked, but people reacted the same way when they found out their Fisher Price obtained ZNM items were getting taken away by daddy. Nasomi changed his mind on letting people keep their gear, and maybe he's willing to change this outdated rule as well.
If this subject has been settled in the past, that's the past. The server is populated now, and new discussion and a change is needed. That's what forums are for

I am not a dual boxer, and don't even currently have a character created in the alt spot for my account. If you think I'm whining because I'm afraid, then you're flat out wrong.
