I think that's a fine quality-of-life feature to have on the site, if not a very pressing matter at the moment.

To those who are worried people will go overboard with elitism, I don't think that's gonna be the case. It will probably have the following effects though:

• People with totally garbage gear seeking a party will be ignored.
• People with okay NQ gear will come second after the godly-geared +1/RareEx in-every-slot characters. At some point okay-geared people will still be invited as soon as the critical mass of okay-geared group seekers is met.
• Typically less popular jobs (ex: BLM) with great gear will come ahead in line of popular jobs with bad gear. Currently people can only invite based on job levels, search comment and player notoriety.

I don't think any of those points is a bad thing. We all have some less-favored jobs that are just okay-geared. But I'd like to be done with Rangers that don't shoot and toilet paper tanks.

Agree with Piellar. When there's 5 BLM seeking, and you've already decided that you're going to invite a BLM.. It'd be nice to know if the one you're randomly picking is going to suck or not.

I have three kids, and a busy job. My play time is finite, and if I can avoid showing up to party in Wajoam like I did two nights ago where my RDM was going to melee in STR gear at level 56? I'd have loved to do something else with my playing time. Instead, despite being the biggest asshole to plague the server, I decided the other 4 people in the party obviously deserved to have not walked there for no reason either and we trucked along until someone fake d/c'd and granted us all some mercy.

For those of you worried that this would lead to elitism, maybe some elitism is needed to make people stop wasting 5 other people's time. If you have fine gear, and an appropriate weapon, you'll get invited still. If you clearly look like someone who has no business currently taking part in an XP Party? You might find yourself with a lot of free time to go do what you ought to be doing: Farming.

I ran a site for a short time where players could leave reviews and rate their party members.

end-game shells just put a bunch of fake info to be assholes so I shut it down after a few days. But I still think something like that may be more representative. I spend most of my time naked after all.

Now that I've listed mine, how about everyone in favor of it do the same so I know whom to avoid inviting when I get the notion to make a party? Fair is fair.

A tool that tells you what someone is currently wearing tells you jack all. I seek while fishing, meaning I've wearing the mithra summer swimsuit, fishing gear, and a weapon I like the look of. Or while farming, melee gear on my rdm.

If you guys want to gearcheck, do the legwork yourselves. Ask someone to meet up so you can see If their TP/WS Or Elemental/Enfeebling/Healing/Mp recovery sets, and food choice meet your standards. Some people might go along with it, personally I'd just laugh in your face(s) and wait to be invited to the next party. I'd rather group with relaxed people that have naked characters than high-strung try hards anyway.

So, it's ok for someone like myself, who has spent countless hours fishing and cooking to lvl it and farm/make gil, to get stuck with someone who farms none and refuses to gear himself properly for his job? We aren't asking for elite gear, we are asking for job appropriate gear and a knowledge past 3rd grade reading level when equipping said gear. If that is not what you are looking for in a party member, I think Wolf knows a rdm thats looking for an invite.
