As a whole, yes. I am more referring to the gambling side of things, not the business side. Nas is doing this SB bet as a way for the community to have some fun, while at it he decided to try to recycle some gil. In the end, if you don't like the tax, or juice, don't gamble. No one says anyone has to.

First off, we don't all compete with the same rules here. Patches, hotfixes, etc have changed many things here, so don't for a minute that new players might not have a harder time than older ones. Just different challenges.

"Buy your way to the top" lulz. First off you could only really buy a Relic, most (not all) of the end game shit is Rare/Ex. Not everyone has the ability to sink 60 hours a week into this game. Wake up at 3AM to camp Faf/Nid/Tiamat/etc. Someone who works 60 hours a week should still be able to enjoy the game how they want. Use a little of the money they grinded IRL to make up for the time they weren't able to play.

And just think, if Nasomi wasn't always spending time on fighting RMT, just think of the other things he could be doing. RMT is going to happen, and its almost unscalable to try to fight it (hence why SE changed most of the sought after drops that weren't Rare/Ex to be Rare/Ex) and you will just spin your wheels doing so. How much content have we lost because he's busy thinking of ways to fight it? Or what about when he banned a bunch of them and all the sudden the server started getting DDoSed? Then he had to sink more money into a protection.

It's like saying if you want to be good at FFXI, you're not allowed to have friends/family/social life. This is 2020 on a 18 year old game. Let's have both.

Except you can reach an agreeable amount to buy any Rare/Ex item from some shells on this server. Hell, TS alone will trade away Gaiters and any sea drop not from AV.


Just because patches and hotfixes have happened, doesn't mean we have largely been on different rulesets.



Just think, if people didn't RMT, exploit crafts, dupe, bot, etc. We'd have all the content in the world.


P.S. Still waiting on how not allowing RMT is the "American" view.
