BLM in the 50's is pretty fucking simple.... and gear definitely makes a BLM at this level. Watching a great BLM know exactly what spells to cast, and being resisted 40-50% of the time, doesn't do anything besides make you happy. The entire game is pretty fucking simple in the 50's, I think you're overthinking it for some reason.

As for Kulgan, thankfully I'm in his LS... so yes, I get invites. They don't mind carrying a leech usually for LS parties.

BLM usually have to party together or take shitty parties, that's very true. It's been a known issue for a while. Luckily, every once and a while, I get friends that let a BLM leech their XP parties because having more BLM at 75 benefits them. It's a nice arrangement we got worked out.

I'm not sure what your point is about the gear. I said invite me, I have max gear. You said that gear doesn't matter... I said obviously it does, and you said obviously it does now but gear on someone who doesn't know how to play FFXI won't matter..
