Ive gotten 450k in gil from a combination of random people when i started this server up, honestly who here didnt get a couple 100k when they started up? I don't think its a huge deal that we dont have to farm up bee chips or turn bat wings in to sludge through the first 20 levels of this game.

Is this seriously an issue? Someone gave someone else some gil and it ends your world? Good lord...

I wasn't given even a penny. Started with exactly 60 gil (10 in the pocket + 50 from coupon), farmed the first items to sell using only the starting gear that as far as I remember took a couple of days just to begin to replace. 1000 gil looked like an awful lot. Looked up and tried most of the gil guides but none of them really worked (probably because too many people followed them), ended up fishing like most people but took a while fishing moat carp just to afford a decent composite rod and when I finally bought it I had like 300 gil left.

Was the free gil handout in the brochure?
I must've missed that.

I was given 50k when I started (split between the other 10 people I started playing with) from a player named Nuggz. Don't think I've seen him since.

Got a Mist Silk Cape from someone who was in their 30s as a THF camping it, competing with me.

Being dumb, I bought a non-zero amount of statless +DEF gear. But who doesn't do that?

As far as I recall other than the occasional mentor I didn't have any contact with anyone until my first dunes party.

Probably about 80% my offering 20% answering people asking for help.
