Hello,

Rubi here. Still laughing from that JP ONRY video hehe.

So last night, I got a nice invite for a merit party while I was farming so this is what happened. I cannot make this stuff up, and I found a glitch a long the way. I was tired too but that is not an excuse, just to add context. This is perhaps the prime example of a bad day.

- Party invite from Signum. High level Sam with that cool looking Great Katana. You know the one!
- I was farming so had to warp back to Bastok
- Bastok Mines -> Qufim -> Jeuno -> Mog House, unload farming items and get Dusk gear, pre-relic weapon, etc...
- Warp to Whitegate
- Start using the Runic portal system but forgot Sneak so had to Runic portal back
- On my way to AH, Ashita client crashed, had to reload. Took 2 minutes ' ish
- Logged in, apologized to Signum who was patiently waiting with the rest of the players already meriting
- I was about to buy sneak oils and said fuck it, I am going to buy Monomi and stop being a n00b. I bought it. Best 250k spent ever.
- I load up laptop to check maps because I had never been to the NW corner of Mount Z, just the 4 main camps at the SE corner.

- So now I take the Runic Portal to Nyzul Isle but for some reason I read the map wrong (so tired) and took the wrong Runic portal
- Took the portal back to the undersea and walked towards the top right portal

- Now by this point, I am feeling the stress and anxiety of people waiting. My chest felt tight. I hate people waiting for me.
- So, back to running towards the top right portal. I press ENTER to click on the door to open it but enter targeted this bomb creature. I forget the name. Neutral mob.
- My character starts attacking it instead of opening the door. It appears that I pressed Enter twice.
- I felt like a n00b so I lied to my party members (sorry Signum) and said it was a keyboard issue. Obviously my ego was bruised.
- I died from this mob as I was using the portal and died on the other side of the portal
- By this time, a replacement who was invited after me, made it to the party way before me (obviously). Thanks Jack!
- So I spawned back in Bastok Mines and started the process all over again (can you imagine my anxiety now?)
- GLITCH ALERT: So when I got back to the Nyzul Staging Point area with the 4 main portals, the stupid bomb mob that I had attacked earlier was still FUCKING AGGROING me, even though it had killed me and I ran back from Bastok Mines. Motherf*cker.
- I popped shadows and ran to the NE portal and finally made it to the other side with 500 HP left.
- At this point, I gave up on the online maps and finally decided to ask for directions and help.
- Pel?????? always forget the spelling of this person's name who used to live in Giddeus 24/7, wearing the Elvaan RSE gear, graciously came to rescue me and guide me.


What did I learn from this? If I am seeking while farming, better make sure that I had XP gear on and ready to go. Ask questions about places you've never been to and don't be afraid to ask people to come and get you if it's your first time to a new area. The online maps would not have helped me in this case.

Like I said, I can't make this stuff up.

Pretty sure that bomb is not neutral; it aggros on spawn in to anyone returning to that point in undersea ruins. That thing was scarier when everything was 99 and you heard the thump behind you =(...Nightmare fuel.

Use Halvung staging point to get to the Mt Z 75 merit spot. It's a bit longer of a walk, but more straightforward.

Secondly, just imaging porting in to that area when they were lvl 99. You just had to go with a PLD that had 2 hour up, or convince someone in your LS to die for you.

Wow. That mob was hitting me for like 120 damage a hit and I was not expecting it so my guard was down. I'll know for next time.

Crazy that a PLD 2 hour or friend had to die for people I stopped playing in 2005 and never experienced this.

What a great story. I could feel the anxiety while reading this. I soooo relate.

Once you've made the walk a couple times it's not that bad, but yeah, if you don't know the way and don't have someone to guide you...

I've never once seen that bomb, though.
