Hello everyone,
I plan to directly mount a sprocket on the output shaft of a worm gearbox (
https://www.oyostepper.es/category-190-b0-Reductor-sinf%C3%ADn-corona.html) to drive a chain conveyor mechanism. The torque calculation meets the requirements, but the sprocket will generate a certain radial force.
I'm unsure if the output bearing of the worm gear reducer can withstand this. I don't want to add any additional support structure. Therefore, I would like to ask experienced individuals here: is it appropriate to directly connect a sprocket to the output end of a worm gear reducer? What range should the radial load be controlled within? What issues should be considered for long-term use?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
