I'm not sure this is the best place to post this, but it seems the most appropriate.Hello everyone!
I was unsure of the best way to go about this, so I registered for the forums and thought it might be best if I just make a thread about this.
I played FFXI from launch till about 2008, around that time I did a very loose conversion of Final Fantasy XI for tabletop roleplaying. Most of the systems worked, but it wasn't very good and certainly wasn't a complete system. I'm now a game designer by profession and do a lot of odd jobs in the industry.
As of this week, I've started a new version of my system with a number of improvements to design. I'm having a lot of fun working on this again. There are several concessions made for tabletop play, but most things in the fan-created databases, such as items, work out of the box in Final Fantasy XI: Tabletop. However, I had forgotten that the fan database sites still lack hard data when it comes to enemies and monsters.
It occurred to me that anyone running a private server would have presumably access to this data, and that I should contact them in order to see if they'd be willing to help me. I'd only need data from up to RotZ in order to get started (But any additional data beyond that would be very helpful in future additions to this book). So far, I'm spending my time making the rulebook like nice and easy to read and use. My email is attached to my profile as well, so if an admin would like to speak to me that way, it's available.
I've included a sample of the first few pages of the book:
