I searched the forums before making this post but didn't see anyone else that seemed to have the same issue so here I am.

Yesterday I went to start fishing for the first time and when I leveled up I got the log message "Kai's fishing skill reaches level 0" regardless of level. This seemed odd but seeing how it showed as correct in the main menu I didn't think it mattered. However, I got to level 4 and right before I went to sleep I zoned to try my hand at crayfish and found that I couldn't catch any in bastok mines due to lack of skill. So I checked, and of course, my fishing skill had reset to zero, apparently after zoning.

Today I went to try again and made sure to take screenshots every step of the way to document my progress.
Zone: Port Bastok
Rod/bait: Clothespole/little worms
fish: cobalt jellyfish

I reached level 2 to test it again and just like last time, my skill reset to 0 after having zoned. Nas is a busy guy and I don't mean to pester him to restore my lost skill (though that would be nice) but if anyone else has advice on the issue, i.e. is this a known bug/do I need to fish somewhere else/anything else I might need to know since I'd really rather not spend any more time trying to fish if it's going to be futile either way. I like to fish but not that much that I'd reset to 0 each time, lol.

Everytime you get a skillup it shows that your skill reaches whatever level, and if you check it via menu, it shows 1 lvl per each time you got a skillup in that zone. It went to zero because thats what your skill still actually is, 0 (its like .4+ depending on your skillups). It's a display bug but youre getting your skillups still. Based on your screenshots, youre at 0.8. thats why it shows as 0.

Kai, you know what you are right. I spent a few hours in selbina just to hit level 1. I know I hit it because that was the goal before bed. Now it is showing level 0
