So I am looking to level a new job. I am currently working on getting Bst to 75 but after I was looking to go towards War or Drk. I never played either in retail but they both use very similar gear as Bst does. I already have axe and Scythe leveled....I know War can do G.Axe as well. Which of these jobs tend to be more useful? Also, which seems to have a play style that is the most fun? Just looking for others input on how they view the jobs and what they find to be pros/cons.

There are too many personal preferences in play between WAR and DRK for someone else to give you a definitive answer to the fun question, which I say is more important than any utility difference between those two jobs. I say get them both to 37 and then choose your own adventure.

I like Drk better
Bash, Stun, drain, aspir, sleep, bind, absorb, souleater, potential to obtain apoc.
Not saying anything bad about war, it's an amazing job.
Just that I like Drk better for those reasons.

If you enjoy having aggro of a mob, blink tanking, general hate control, choose WAR. Otherwise DRK just has more tools, more choices that make it a far more interesting/better job. WAR gets the job done, dont get me wrong, its just not the most engaging job to play sometimes.

I feel like Warrior has more diversity though. Great axes, axes, polearm. Decent enough great sword skill [inb4 lolGS]. DRK has GS and Scythe. Maybe axes, but so far my rampage trials on DRK have left much to be desired.

I'd vote for DRK as more useful, more interesting and more effective in most situations.

I meant more from a playstyle perspective, not necessarily varied usefulness within the game. I just think you'll have more fun playing a DRK if you don't have a vetted interest in either from the get go.

I suppose there's something to that. DRK is more 'active.' But most things I break DRK out for (merits primarily), I feel WAR does (slightly) better. And from the outside looking in WAR is 'at home' in more endgame things. So in that regard you could probably enjoy the job more.

That said, I do enjoy the hell out of DRK and wouldn't trade it for anything.

Thank you guys for the info. Exactly what I was looking for. It's good to know Drk has more tools to choose from. I like Bst because it can be a busy job and back in the day I was a Thf. Loved pulling, sata/ws, and going back out for more pulls. It was always active. I'm not a big fan of standing still and not having a huge role.
