Smn magic 324

Must be a hume thing

Increased Bloodpact: Ward buff duration is not new in this maintenance and has always been a thing for a very long time on this server. It's just no one noticed because everything is using the max duration by default and the fact that duration is only increased after 300 Summoning Magic Skill. Every point above 300 = 1 extra second.

320 Summoning Magic Skill = 20 extra seconds.

The reason why very few know about this is because of the very tight skill equipment distribution SMN get and their values, you will almost always achieve this at 75 because of merits and because that's where most of the better equipment lie. Also, because no one actually uses anything meaningful on SMN besides Predator Claws, Nether Blast, and Aerial Armor/Earthen Ward. People like to abuse the fact that /SMN also provides the same "max" duration and potency on everything available as a sub job, most especially Rolling Thunder.

However, Skill increasing Magic Damage/Accuracy is in fact new and is a GREAT fix. Talk about FINALLY!

Fixing /SMN is the next step and lowering buff duration so that being a SMN main job matters more.

This is not accurate from my testing. I was killing tiny mandies in East Saruta and dealing 468 consistently between 5 and 15 yalms. Below 5 and above 15 I was dealing 375 consistently. I figured better to test damage on low mobs where defense isn't a factor. Also, I was there for about half an hour and every single WS missed, I tried every bow skill multiple times.

This was done with a Xbow not a Bow so keep that in mind this was done on the same mob type multiple times over the course of 30-45 mins straight even tested on other mobs with same result with Xbow only.

Did some more testing on ranged attacks tonight in Dynamis Tavnazia. 2.9 yalms and lower was nerfed damage by 30-40 damage 3.1 -25 was all consistent within 10 damage of each other on each shot. Every now and then around maybe 15% of the monsters we fought it seemed that the old sweet spot was active again and anything outside the narrow sweet spot range, 8 yalms in this case was nerfed damage. Not sure what caused those mobs in particular to act different but they did.

Relic procs were ALOT more common today than last night 30ish in the run using about 3.5 stacks of silver bullets from what i can remember. Crit rate also seemed unusually high close to 25-30%. Not a lot of data but just some observations from a low man tav.

Flashy shot does not activate, you can use it get the animation and see the buff, but it will just time out. Won’t activate with a ranged attack.

  1. Statues (including TE's) got their HP lowered.
  2. Oneshot with Thunder IV now possible (if you don't suck ;P).

Statues back at 2000 HP, so I will delete this soon.

Back with some more Summoner testing.
I was using the IT birds in Misareaux Coast to test on.
I had 2 merit in Thunderstorm already so i couldnt test from the first merit, test were done with and without SMN magic gear.
I have 3 merits in MACC and 2 in MATT in group 1 merits.

I do think Smn magic effects the Macc of the BP, as it does seem to be cutting the resists in by half from the small amount of testing i did.
Smn magic doesnt seem to be effecting the overall damage from the BP (which looks correct from wiki) that seems more inline with what merits you have in thats group 2 merits.

Rolls and food do effect the overall dmg and acc of the BP, i was using PUP roll and Grape Daifuku.

Sorry forgot to put on the photo top ones are with 324 and bottom 285 smn magic.
Sleeps landed well, i did die a couple of times so didnt go overboard, wasnt any missed targets. There was 1 case where 2 mobs woke up at 27sec and the other 2 at 56secs i assume it was a half resist or something.

Not sure how far the SMN magic will go in terms of being consistant at HNM, I'll try and get some claims and test it. Havnt tested MB yet but at 1k-2k dmg should be able to see around 1.4-1.5k BP.
Will do some more testing on ward pacts, and try and work out if the timers are different on each wards, or if they are just a set amount of seconds accross all of them.

This was take from an update from a 2006 update; http://www.playonline.com/pcd/update/ff ... etail.html

The summoner job has undergone the following adjustments:
The summoner pet command Blood Pact has been divided into two categories
Blood Pact: Rage (Recast time: 1 minute)
Orders the avatar to use special attacks.
Blood Pact: Ward (Recast time: 1 minute)
Orders the avatar to use support abilities.
-Blood Pact will now receive different effects when the value added by equipment or merit points exceeds the skill cap for that level.
*Players can experience increased accuracy when using Blood Pact: Rage or lengthened effect durations when using Blood Pact: Ward. The length of the duration increased varies depending on which Blood Pact is used, but will not exceed 180 seconds.
*A player whose summoning magic skill is lower than the skill cap will not experience any penalties, such as a decrease in accuracy or shortened effect durations.
-Players will now also experience increases in skill when using the Blood Pact: Rage and Blood Pact: Ward pet commands.

Very happy to see these results, as smn was my favorite job in retail

Buffs give different duration or bonus depending on your Summoning magic skill.
Summoning skill now effects your avatars physical and magical accuracy.
